GOV. OKEZIE IKPEAZU, THE BEST ABIA HAS EVER PRODUCED- HON. ONWUKA

An opposition stakeholder in Aba North, Hon. Kingsley Onwuka has insisted that Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu is the best governor that Abia State has produced since its creation. It will be recalled that the current democratic system commenced in 1999 after Gen. Abdusallami Abubakar transmitted power to President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Hon. Onwuka made a compelling argument for the Okezie Ikpeazu led administration with facts and figures. He pointed out that the level of achievements recorded state wide should put all previous governments to shame. While explaining his position, he was quick to remind AbiaReportage that despite Nigeria being in a recession, the Governor was able to carry out all these infrastructural upgrades in Abia State.

Hon. Onwuka said these projects include Brass/ Faulks road, where he said he has a shop. He also said the road had remained in a deplorable state for more than 13 years. Ehere Road, Old Umuahia road, Owerri road, Owo-Onitcha Ngwa road, Aba road in Umuahia and the very recently awarded major road Port Harcourt road.

He pointed out that if previous governments had put in a little of the resources coming from Aba back into the mega city, the input of the present administration would have taken Aba into the cadre of world class metropolis.

Onwuka stated that the Governor deserved the support of all and sundry irrespective of party affiliation. In his own words "If a governor is doing well, he's doing it for both APGA and PDP. Look at the roads in Aba, we all drive on it. The roads don't know which party you belong to. Let us all support him to deliver more".ar

FORMER VICE PRESIDENT CALLS FOR RESTRUCTURING

The APC Federal Government has been advised by one of their own, former Vice President Abubakar Atiku not to disregard the regional outcries and agitations. The APC chieftain described the various voices calling for restructuring of Nigeria as credible. He reminded that in the past he had called for restructuring but it seemed he was the lonely voice in the Nigerian political space. The former Presidential candidate mentioned that there was need to heed to the various calls from Nigerian stakeholders and leaders. Alhaji Atiku believes that restructuring will quell the agitations for succession coming from various sections of the nation. AR
